What’s better than getting a glimpse of the new Superman movie? Getting two of them! Warner Brothers has released a pair of teaser trailers for next summer’s “Superman: Man of Steel,” the latest attempt at rebooting the franchise following Bryan Singer’s disappointing “Superman Returns” back in 2006. Okay, okay, yeah, the footage in both is the same (we’re glad they’re not giving too much away!), but each features a different voiceover: one from Kal-El’s Kryptonian father, Jor-El (played by Russell Crowe); the other by Clark Kent’s Earth-born father figure, Pa Kent (played by Kevin Costner). So what is revealed? Not much, except that cornfields of Smallville have been recast as a seaside fishing town. But in the hands of director Zack Snyder (“300,” “Watchmen”) and producer Christopher Nolan (“The Dark Knight” trilogy), we get a sense of the direction they’re going in: naturalistic settings, sweeping imagery, and a storyline that appears to be deeply rooted in creation myth.
