Aside from brewing some of the best-tasting coffee in Mahattan, the thing we love most about La Colombe Torrefaction is the roulette wheel of interesting clientele it attracts. On any given day, you can sling back a shot of espresso surrounded by anyone from downtown It Girls and Boys to Rilke-reading NYU kids to skateboarders (who pore in from next door neighbor Supreme) to in-the-know out-of-towners who have wisely resisted the tourist cattle call bellowing from the nearby Starbucks. It’s this “collective personality” the coffee purveyor celebrates in its new eponymous magazine, available now at its six stateside locations (free with purchase of a 12-oz. bag of beans…or probably if you just ask nicely).

Inside the 80-page, perfect-bound digest is a blend of stong content sure to perk up coffee lovers, including interviews with artist David Guinn and chefs Sean Brock and Mike Lata, a behind-the-scenes look at Saturdays Surf NYC, features on the art of the brew, an eye-opening field report from Haiti, and much more.
