Macy’s is carving itself a big slice of street cred this Turkey Day with news that it’s commissioned KAWS create a float for its annual Thanksgiving Day Parade. According to The New York Times, the iconic artist plans to create a larger-than-life balloon featuing his popular Companion character—bubble-gloved hands covering his face—which travel from Central Park to Macy’s 34th Street flagship store. This won’t be the first time the retailer has worked with a big-time artist: Previous collaborations have included Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, and Tim Burton. You’d be an air-head to miss it.
