Literary enfant terrible Bret Easton Ellis built a career crafting tales of coked-up party kids (Less Than Zero), terrorist fashion models (Glamorama), and Armani-wearing serial killers (American Psycho). Put him together with director and screenwriter Paul Schrader (Taxi DriverAmerican Gigolo), who knows a thing or two about the young, fucked up, and fabulous, and you’re sure to get people talking. The controversy magnets are set to collaborate on The Canyons, an original screenplay Ellis penned about—what else?—youth, glamour, sex, and Los Angeles, circa 2012. Ellis announced on the film’s Facebook page that casting for the psycho-sexual thriller is underway and the cameras will begin rolling this July. Consider us intrigued.
